Ben Mathews has been my acting coach for almost a year now. Taking part in his workshops and classes has been a true privilege. I have learned so much about myself as an actor, but also as an individual throughout this experience. Ben’s open and encouraging approach creates a safe space for students to express themselves fully, even (and most importantly) in areas they might find most challenging. For me, through the characters and scenes that I studied with Ben - I was able to voice parts of me that were shut down or repressed. And even though this is “merely” an acting class, I found the experience quite therapeutic.

Just wanted to let you know I landed my first tv role! It’s just a short fun one and it is 90% improvised... but I put the fact that I booked it down to the fact that I showed up as myself and fucked off any thought of what the producers wanted. The shoot was today and while it was a crazy gig it was such great fun.

Anyway just wanted to thank you for your amazing guidance and encouragement, especially throughout this year. I am so excited by how far I have come and also by how much there is still to learn.

Thank you for challenging me to show up as myself both in the work and in life - I can already feel life changing because of this and it’s fucking hectic. Thanks again.
