Over six live sessions, Paul will guide a small group of actors and filmmakers through the process of developing, writing and rewriting your own short film.
This is a hands-on development programme rather than a traditional writing class. Participants will develop their idea alongside Paul and the group, write their screenplay, receive notes and feedback, and take it through the rewrite process.
The goal? Finish with a short script, ready to take towards production and beyond.
THE PROGRAMME
Sessions 1–3: Development
Develop the concept, characters, story and structure of your short film, building the foundations you need before going to draft.
Writing Week
Take what you’ve developed during the first three sessions and write your short screenplay.
Sessions 4–6: Notes, Rewrites & Final Draft
Bring your script back into the room, receive notes and feedback, identify what is and isn’t working, and work through the rewrite process towards a final draft.
THE OUTCOME
By the end of the programme, the goal is for each participant to have a completed short screenplay of approximately 10 pages / 10 minutes that you can actually go on to make.

About Paul Kampf
Paul Kampf is an award-winning filmmaker, producer, writer, director, actor, and teacher whose career has spanned more than 30 years and over 50 produced projects. Central to his work has been the development of emerging actors and filmmakers.
Nearly 100 actors who trained with Paul have gone on to earn roles in projects he produced or directed, and he has helped create first-time directing opportunities for filmmakers, including five of six women directors on a recent slate of feature films. His productions have brought developing artists into creative environments alongside acclaimed talent including Laurence Fishburne, Edward James Olmos, Connie Nielsen, Patrick Wilson, Esai Morales, John Heard, Wanda Sykes, Roselyn Sanchez, Angus Macfadyen, Jon Huertas, Juan Pablo Raba, and Angelica Vale.
Having written, directed, and/or produced 15 feature films and more than 30 shorts that have earned nearly 40 awards, Paul continues to teach acting, directing, and film production internationally while building collaborative networks designed to give talented artists meaningful opportunities to move from training into professional work.
